ביריה Birya-
Birya is an agricultural moshav adjacent to Zefat in the Upper Galilee Region and belongs to the jurisdiction of the Merom Ha’Galil Regional Council.
The name of the moshav comes from the name of a village that existed in the same location in the Talmud era. Rabbi Yosef Caro lived on the village and it was he that authored the Shulchan Aruch which is also known as the code of the Jewish Law.
Nearby to the village is the Birya Fortress which was built during the British Mandate, where certain important events took place which lead to the establishment of the State of Israel.
Moshav Birya is surrounded by forests and greenery and is very close by to the main attractions and sites of the Galilee with many walking routes, Kivery Zadikim and of course the ancient town of
